Alt - That's why your post was not deleted and Jar86's was, their post was offensive. Thanks for understanding Jar. Once this thing got into the whole race thing, I stay away, through his time at FIU I think Pres. Maidique has made all kind of hires that have led to the development and improvement of FIU. I feel that he did the same when it came to Pete Garcia.

I disagree. Noone here has spoken negatively or in a derogatory manner about any race. All of us involved in this topic have made factual points and stated our opinions. I personally added my opinion to this post in an attempt to point out that Mario Cristobal and Pete Garcia more than likely were hired because of their race, not because of their qualifications as a head coach or Athletics Director should be hired. This is not so much true for PG because he does have experience as an administrator and top level personnel. MC is a different story. 'alt, I hope you don't mind that I keep this going (because it's interesting to me). But who or what criteria should have been used in hiring the head coach. I think you shold remember all the constraints which currently belie FIU (e.g. dollars available, location, football history, etc.). Are you thinking along the lines of a local high school coach? a prominent ex-head coach that has fallen on hard times? or what? I am very interested in others opinions on this matter because it goes to the root of every hire we will make in the future. To me, MC was a wonderful hire; probably the best we could have hoped for. Time will tell of course but I'd like to know what we could've done better. Thanks.

There is no "factual" information on someone's inner believes and feelings. Just rumors and innuendos. In my opinion, that is plain stupid.
