yea i just saw that on the NFL network ticker. Kind of cool to have two former teammates playing together. HOWEVER, this is Chandler's third stop and this is Turnbull's third time with the falcons. They need to make the roster. Chandler needs to put together his receiving and return skills to have a chance to make the 53 man roster as a return man/ 4th or 5th wide receiver.
Parcells did not renew chandler's contract. he was a member of the scout team last year and he was simply not released during the offseason. Until last week when pretty much the entire scout team was purged. I suspect that Chandler was released not because he sucked, otherwise he would have been released much earlier than last week, but because the new regime wants different players.

From the MIAMI HERALD
Falcons sign ex-FIU players Posted on Thu, May. 01, 2008Digg del.icio.us AIM reprint print email By PETE PELEGRIN ppelegrin@MiamiHerald.com Former FIU defensive back Nick Turnbull and former FIU and Dolphins receiver Chandler Williams signed free agent contracts with the Atlanta Falcons late Wednesday.
Turnbull, who was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday, joins the Falcons for the third time.
Turnbull, FIU's career interceptions leader, was with the Falcons in 2006 as an undrafted free agent. He was cut that season and signed with the Chicago Bears.
Last year, Turnbull rejoined the Falcons.
Williams, who had been on the Dolphins' practice squad until being waived April 24, was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round of the 2007 draft.
Lionell Singleton, a Golden Panthers defensive back in 2007, was extended an offer by the New Orleans Saints to participate in a minicamp May 8-10.

The reason I said that Parcells renewed Chandler's contract is because I spoke to a few sources and they both told me that he did.
