My god!! Dude, can you man up!? Nothing so bad has said against FAU? Do you come in here to get your feathers ruffled up? I mean we are RIVALS!! Do you want us to hold hands too and sing Kum Ba Ya?? Don't act like FAU fans respects FIU fans much either. You guys give your little jabs here and there, but we can take it.
The funny thing to is how FAU fans (who at this moment have the better football program) keep coming on FIU blogs and leaving there two cents, it makes me feel good that people outside of FIU care what we have to say. Anytime we say anything questionable about FAU they wet their pants.
And let me add that the only real negative statements are toward your school and surrounding and not to your football program. We respect the football program to a certain extent, but the better question is WHY DO YOU COME IN HERE??? I could care less if on an FAU blog you guys talk crap about FIU because i expect that... plus whats the point of wasting my time to change the minds of my rival school??
In summary stop being little girls and if you don't like what we think about you school go cry about it on your own blog... thats if you have one, and quit dirtying up our blog with your FAU $hit.

No one is arguing that FIU is better than fau, I think every single FIU fan knows that's not the case. Nobody on this thread said any differently, the topic of the thread is about expecting fau to have a better class than what they did, guess what, apparantly HS expected to do better because as a result he will be making some changes (that's all the thread is about). If you wanted to take it as some sort of insult for pointing out what YOUR OWN COACH said, then run with it. No one even compared FIU's class to fau before JC, the thread is all about your Coach making changes to his recruiting strategy in order to get better (obviously that means that he wasn't satisifed with the current results). By the way if you "READ" all of the above FIU fans quotes, you will see what great respect that we all have for HS and the job he's done at fau. Even acknowledging the fact that changes must be made in recruiting is a sign of a man who isn't stuck in his way and will change in order to get the right results (which he has been getting). Wow this is getting retarded. If you don't see any of the cracks your fans are taking at us then you are blind. Aparently "stigma of fau" is a compliment. As well as "all boca residents are 80+", "boring location", no main campus (needless to say boca is the main campus), "[schnelly] is the main and only thing they have going for them" (again we won the SBC, NO Bowl and have winning seasons unlike our neighbor to the south), and that anyone who is an fau fan is a "lifelong-learner" (yeah we have a lifelong learning program but maybe it is a good idea to be nice to people with money, maybe you guys should look into it to bolster your endowment that is half of ours). Thank you. It does go both ways, but I don't think the perception of a class really holds that much weight, especially for schools in the Sun Belt Conference. No school is going to really be on par recruiting wise with teams from BCS conferences..no matter if they build an on campus stadium, win the New Orleans Bowl etc etc. I'm not sure what people were expecting with respect to FAU's recruiting class, but the team they have now is extremely young and I think the class is solid (albeit not spectacular). FAU seems to identify players who's potential can be harnassed very well. I mean look at the RB, Barasch, Broward's all time leading rusher, recruited by BCS schools..yet is "only" a "2 star" recruit. The star system is flawed, as we all know. Anyway, if I offended anybody, I'm sorry..as I do pull for FIUs program and hope they do well. But let's be real about the slick 'wisecracks'. It does go both ways, but they were definetly there in this thread - so I threw some back, big deal! Good luck!

Buddy, your absolutely right. I couldn't agree more with respect to the recruiting. The purpose on this blog isn't to offend people. These two schools are never going to have a warm fuzzy feeling when they think about each other. But i do have tremendous respect for jc0000, for asking for forgivness.... i wish more people (including myself and FIU fans) could have that mentality.
You didn't offend me at all... and I'm glad to hear that you support FIU. At the end of the day i hope no one loses sleep over anything said on these blogs. I believe that this blog has been very good about not taking this overboard.
With that said... the truth is... if you come in a teams blog supporting the rival your not going to get much of a reception. Its like a republican writing his views on a democratic blog... its just pointless. I think of it as a mutual respect that, fans of other teams don't mess in others blogs.

I disagree. I think we must treat with respect fans from other teams that come over this board to offer their opinions. Obviously, that is true since we expect them to come over here with a minimum level of civility and without hurling insults and calling your hosts' fans names here. When...if....they do that, then I agree they are looking for harsher reaction from fans here...

And let me add that the only real negative statements are toward your school and surrounding and not to your football program. quote] Excatly right, no one ever said FIU was better than fau, which was my whole point (apparantly retarted) that someone couldn't quite grasp.

I didn't mean that they should come on opposing teams blogs completely, i was referring to those who come in to start arguments knowing that this is a rival blog... they should know more or less what is going to be said... I'm all for other any foreign fans... and i believe in freedom of speech... but i also believe that we should have mutual respect... FIU fans shouldn't start trouble, or say offending things in an FAU blog... i understand seeing such comments on Game Day blogs where both student body clash. But when i come to my FIU blog i rather keep it an FIU blog. But FIUFanatic, i agree with you, and I hold you in high regard as an FIU fan, i have read your comments in others blogs too... and your not just someone who talks without knowing. I didn't mean to sound like the blog gestapo, but I'm sure no one appreciates troublemakers... One example: When Pete wrote the "Crowned Jewel" article on the new FIU stadium... a lot of UM fans where pouring in and commenting on how FIU thinks they are special for getting a on-campus stadium. Obviously just hating on us. But it was and article that never mentioned UM, it was made to finally give Miami's largest university the front page, and it was the heralds way of celebrating our great accoplishment... FIU fans were expressing their satisfaction until the UM fans had to start killing the moment and make pointless, offensive comments. THEN much like this thread, this start to become an argument and the main Article that started it is forgotten, everything goes way off topic... Thats what i meant when i said that... FAU fans by all means check this blog out... and tell your friends about it, but just keep in mind that this is an FIU blog and not your own. much love to ya!

First of all smile people We both have DI programs, there are 1000's of colleges in the USA and only 119 are in our club. As someone said don't lose any sleep over what is said here, we are rivals we even play on rivals weeks. and I for one was outlining with all the sincerity the challenges facing FAU just as I can do so for our own program (9 miles from national power, fair-weather Miami fans, etc). Plus wise-cracking is fun

Get over it people, FAU had a disappointing class, they know it shouldnt be that way. Yeah we didnt get 4 star recruits blah blah blah, but top to bottom it is full of players that were overshadowed by superstar teamates. FIU is getting really good players. FAU couldnt capitalize. MC is gonna get this thing going.
I cant wait for the FIU v FAU football game, I spent three hours in Boca watching the FAU fans act like baffoons and then throw their "BEAT FIU" t-shirts on the floor after the game, WHICH THEY LOST. Way to show support to your team and sportsmanship after the game.....
I have been apart of this tradition for less than a year, AND I HATE OWLS ALREADY.
