Guys something really interesting is happening during the start of this season for the Sun Belt. Texas won by only a single touchdown last weekend against Arkansas State...ahem that's #4 TEXAS, not North Texas, or Texas Tech or Texas A&M. Louisiana kept it close against USC (S.Carolina that is) until the end of the third. MTSU is down by only three against #7 Louisville (!!!) approachign halftime, 28-31. FAU beat MTSU last weekend... My questions are: Has the Belt improved? Is FAU really that good if they beat MTSU, when MTSU is suprising Louisville? Is N. Texas and FIU the worst in the belt right now? Honest feedback appreciated. Prediction for this weekend, Maryland 28, FIU 7. I just have a really bad feeling for FIU after PSU, granted PSU is an awesome team, but I didn't see lots of convincing stuff out there last Saturday.

Middle is only down by 3 to Louisville at the half...and they scored 35 points...crazy!!! FAU only gave up 1 TD to their offense last week....their defense must be amazing or Middle did not show up last weekend...something does not add up...any way middle looked d**n good the first half...lets see how they fair the second

Go MTSU!!! You are right...This makes, early on the season, FAU's defensive handling of the Blue Raiders all that more impressive. Now, let's represent the Sun Belt, MTSU!!!

I believe the Sun Belt will continue to improve and pass C-USA. The SBC is very similar to its big brother SEC in many respects just newer to Div 1-A. The teams are becoming stronger and building to compete at the level of the other big D-1 conferences. Florida and Texas are hot beds of recruits and as the SEC is spread across the south so is the SBC. Kids now have more opportunity to stay closer to home feeds the mid major and will eventually push it to a higher level. As these programs improve so will the conference.

That was a very good game for MTSU's offense. They stuck their noses in their and did not let the overwhelming odds against them cloud their vision. McNair looked very very good. It was obvious from the beginning that Stockstill wants the ball in Desmond Gee's hand by any means necessary. But McNair was the man.
Defensively, they couldn't stop The 'Ville either. Blown coverages cost them early on (including the very first play from scrimmage that went for 81 yards and a TD for the TE). If they make the adjustments on defense they should be powerful.
I fell asleep just after the third quarter got going (2:30am comes real early), so I am not sure exactly what happened in the second half. I would assume that Louisville may have more depth than MTSU and that depth prevailed, but I could be wrong.
Either way, I think there has been some noise made by some SunBelt teams already this season.

I agree, they put up a very good fight and were in contention until late in the game. SBC teams have made some noise already this year!
