I've always been a bit of a band geek , so I'd thought I'd share with you this exhibition performance from the Golden Panther Marching Band, they get a nice round of applause at the end(those of you who saw the 80's show have already seen it). www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9e_T9z2qw8By the way, I've always felt that our band, though not the biggest, always brings a lot of energy and entertaining. Also noticed that they stopped using the theme from Star Wars when our defense makes a stop (scUM also uses it). I agree with that, no need to bite anything that the crosstown band does. Go F I U!

I love that 80's show they performed. Roary was a major added plus to it too.

The band will get a little more respect if they started playing better music in the stands. What they play on the field is really good. Their field performance is always hampered by the IDIOT trumpet players who hold over. From what I have seen, you usually hand the dumbest kids you have a trumpet.

The band does a great job and the music in the stand are just fine. You don't change those because that's what creates some traditions (you don't see UF changing their stand songs: Go Gators, Gator Bait, etc.... have been around for years), there's nothing wrong with the FIU band stand music (except maybe Eye of the Tiger, LOL!). And the Trumpets are fine, please don't call kids who are probably the most constant fans of the team IDIOTS. That's uncalled for and tasteless. Apparantly you can had some people a keyboard and they do a pretty good job of being "trumpet players".

I love "Eye of the Tiger", but then again, I am a Rocky fan.
