You think so? That's a pretty hi-tech molecular biology building but maybe.

I just found the new renderings for the new International Studies Building. Here's the link: international.fiu.edu/It says it's suppose to start construction in March 2008 and the Molecular Biology building is supposed to start in July 2008 to be finished by Fall 2009. GO FIU!!

GO FIU!! where is this building going to go? Next to the Public Safety offices, where there's a trailer now (in between Deuxieme Maison and the Ryder Business Building). They're also building the Molecular Biology building in July 2008 next to the Health and Life Sciences Buildings to the northeast of them.

That building looks sick, but nothing in its structure really gives a clue to what it might be. It very well could be a BBC building tho they do have the space for something that big, but since yipee said it's at the library I have to guess that's not the case. It definitely seems to be an academic building of some sort.
I don't think its village shoppes tho. For those of you who dont know I'm living in Orlando for the year and have had the pleasure of seeing their new stadium and they have two strips around the basketball and football stadium with restaurants, stores, Barnes & Noble, etc. It looks amazing it feels like you've actually stepped off campus to another place.

I really think we could have something like that too. Here's what I think: 1. Maidique has already mentioned creating a small "academic village" where the fairgrounds are 2. If we use the land in between the stadium and the Performing Arts Center we could easily build 3 10-story dorm buildings, a parking garage, and a long strip of shops along Campus Drive to create a "Panther Street". 3. Not only would the shops be visited by the fans that come on gamedays, having 3 new dorm buildings to the south of it will force them to pass by them on their way to class and all the other dorm buildings already in the Housing Quad would meet there for food, groceries, books, nails, whatever. 4. WE CAN DO IT, WE JUST NEED TO BUILD IT!! GO PANTHERS!!

I dont doubt it i think UCF's looks ridiculously nice. Convocation center in the middle with strips and a road on both sides. i think 5 or 6 dorm buildings and the stadium in the back. heres more info on it and if im ever around I'll snap some shots ucfathletics.cstv.com/ot/convocation-center-construction.html

That would be nice, I'm very for a transition away from the commuter feel of FIU. I'd love a few restaurants on campus, heck I'd make the drive from North West Dade just to support them.
