What happened to the revolution?
It's alive and well at FIU.
Friends of the GPC (Golden Panther Community), the opportunity to join the establishment is readily available, nothing special about it. However, the opportunity to be part of an evolution, no, a Revolution, is much more rare.
Where a forgotten airport field once stood in West Miami-Dade, there's something very special happening. Similar strides are being achieved in Northeast Dade on Biscayne Bay. Collectively, all FIU campuses are evidence of the revolution.
Somewhere between the waves we're making in legal education, approval for a medical school, the "take-no-prisoner" athletic admin leadership, the rise in b-school rankings, the buildings sprouting up all over campus and the pride being exhibited around town on vehicle license plates, apparel showing up at Lids and Champs and a slew of other notables, FIU finds itself in the midst of a revolution that will change the face of South Florida as well as academia at-large. The haters and naysayers are kicking and screaming as we push the establishment over and create our space on the local, national and international landscape. FIU has the numbers, quality and a newly discoverd pride that are fuleing this revolution. By the time we arrive at FIU at Fifty in the year 2015, you'll be able to say, "i remember FIU back when...and I could never envision the heights FIU has reached."
If you ever question if choosing to support FIU was or is a good idea, the answer is a resounding "yes" for you stand to be a trailblazer (FIU's original nickname), a pioneer at a time where trailblazers are in short supply.
What happened to the revolution? It erupted at FIU and there's no end is site.
Long live faith, family and FIU!
