FIU students honored in marketing contest Seven advertising and public relations students from Florida International University won second place in an international marketing competition for their campaign to support the United Nations' Millennium Program, an effort to eradicate poverty worldwide.
The team competed against about 50 other teams in the U.S.-Canada division of the International Advertising Association's InterAd XI competition.
The students are Emmanuel Amador, Velma Ferguson, Kathleen Oliva, Christine Chutino, Ivan Sevillia, Annia Mendez-Villamil and Tania Berg.
