Well, the Relay for Life is coming up and there's going to be a cookout to kick off the baseball season. But I agree there could be more stuff to do.

It is really hard to get people to come to meetings and keep the membership up. The only reason why people were at the last meeting was because of the free food. There is nothing really that wants people to stay around. So when nobody comes to meetings its really hard to put on events because if the attendance is low at meetings it might be even harder to get the attendance up at the games/events that are put on.

From my experience, sometimes it takes just a couple people to motivate and entire group. If one or two people start doing something consistantly and invite others occasionally, you can easily get a large group together. Unfortunately, what we are experiencing in some cases is chicken and egg syndrome... people don't go to games because the team doesn't win. The team doesn't win because there are no fans to cheer for them.
Based on the previous posts in this thread about how the meetings were run, it sounds to me like the biggest problem is lack of organizational skills in the organization's administration. When meetings are long and drawn out and without any real focus or direction, then people lose intrest. It is important to make the people attending meetings feel that what they are doing is really making a difference too.

I sent what you wrote Steve to the president of Panther Rage and he wrote this back "O wow their right especially on the last two meetings, i took notice of it, but really didn't fix it in time, come this week the meeting should be more organized once again, and start to be fun. Lol you should of actually told me this in person cause i randomly check my facebook mail once in a blue moon lol. But remember any input on ideas would be great." If anyone wants to have any input he is taking it willingly because he would rather fix it before he's done with his position.

I hope I can go tomorrow. I have to pick up my car at the body shop and I don't know what time it'll be ready. I am gonna try my best though.

I think after I sent what Steve wrote on here to the President, he realized that they started to suck.

So, new officers have been elected. Let's hope that Panther Rage gets better. Honestly, I must say that I don't think it will get any better, but maybe some people there can prove me wrong.
I tried running for some stuff but kept losing, but maybe next year will be my turn. Oh well, I tried.

So yesterday was our first meeting of the summer and the first meeting with the new administration. I admit that so far, Panther Rage seems to be taking a big step into bringing more school spirit to FIU. The meeting was a lot of fun. It was much more lively than others before. Of course, we can't talk about much since there's nothing going on in the summer. It was a packed room! There was a football player too, which is always nice to see.
