pete pelegrin and herald coverage

I think we should all email pete pelegrin (FIU sports beat writer) and the Herald sports editor and give them our compliments regarding the increase in FIU coverage. Right now, the FIU mens basketball coverage is on the FRONT of herald.com (not burried in sports - college - basketball - fiu). Additionally, Pete's article on Mario ran in the cover of the herald as well. Generally speaking, I've noticed a significant increase in FIU coverage and exposure and I think we should email pete and the herald for a job well done!

I sent him an e-mail some time ago and something amazing occurred; he responded. Very nice man. He's done a great job for us.

I receive the Sun-Sentinel and not the Miami Herald. I am curious does the Herald throw FIU information all over the sports section and totally ignore FAU like the Sun-Sentinel does towards FIU? Or does the Herald recoginize that FAU fans read their paper also unlike the Sentinel does towards FIU?

Amazingly, The Herald does cover FAU...A LOT MORE than the Sun Sentinel covers FIU. I don't understand their reasoning...I've fired friendly e-mails to question this, only one was answered. There is even a blog for them......I can understand that from the Palm Beach Post, since it is their hometown...but from a Broward-based paper...it really is incredible...

I began conversing with Pete via e-mail last summer when my son arrived on campus. I wanted to know just how much FIU coverage I could count on so I would know where to turn to keep up with all the happenings at FIU. He has always been an extremely nice guy and has responded every time. He is looking forward to even more coverage for us this year.
