I'm just wondering if anyone knows if the Sunbelt is ever planning to add Men's Soccer to the lists of sports?? It would be nice to have all the sports in the same Conference instead of exiling one of FIU most successful sports to a different conference. Any idea?

I think UNO is planning on adding men's soccer in the near future, as part of their "reconstruction" of the athletic program after Hurricane Katrina damages to the institution.....Other than that, haven't read anything official....or semi official about that issue.

I think the SBC had enough teams in men's soccer to start this year (4). However, WKU just decided to drop men's soccer so that puts everything at 3. In addition, I don't think the teams that do have men's soccer (FAU, FIU, and DU) would really feel that joining the SBC in that sport is the best thing for them, I believe that the teams have to request that the Conference sponsor the sport, and they did not do so this year when they "could" have. FIU especially would not be interested in joining as we get to play national powerhouse SMU and a strong Tulsa team as a member of C-USA in Soccer.
