Week of 8/27/07
The Panthers tie Bowling Green 0-0 in their first match under new coach Munga Eketebi. The Panthers go on to lose their next match against UMKC, quite frankly, a very disappointing start to their season as both of these teams are middle of the pack in their conferences which are not nearly as good as CUSA Soccer. Go Panthers.
Week of 9/3/07
The Panthers lose to both USF and #14 UConn on 1 - 0 score at the UConn invitational. An improvement in the level of play as both of the opponents were competitive. Seems like we have a pretty good defense, however, we've only scored 1 goal in 4 games. It looks to be a long year for the FIU boys.
Week of 9/10/07
The Panthers go up to Michigan and lose 1-0 to MSU and 5-1 to #18 U of M. The men again, come up scoreless as the only FIU score of the weekend came on a Michigan own goal.
Week of 9/17/07
The Panthers come home and come away with a 2-2 tie with the U of Ill. Chicago and a loss to Navy 3-1. The Panthers reamain winless for the year.
Week of 9/24/07
The gents open up C-USA play with a 1-0 loss to the University of Marshall, once again, the defense steps up however, there is no offense to speak of on this team. Looks like Munga is having a heck of a time with this team.
Week of 10/1/07 & 10/8/07
The Golden Panthers lose their second CUSA match of the year vs. #25 South Carolina at home, 3-1. This brings their record to 0-8-2.
The Golden Panthers win their first game of the season vs. conference rivals UCF. The men continue their good play and beat UAB 2-1 in double overtime. This brings their record to 2-8-2, more importantly, it ties them with South Carolina for third place in C-USA Soccer.
