I noticed that despite the 3 losses, we still managed to score 19 runs in 3 games (but allowed a sad 37 runs)... That is one heck of an offense we have that can surely do some damage in the Sunbelt (that's taking into consideration that Southern Cal had a pretty decent pitching squad). ** just a reminder, last time we played Southern Cal in '06, we managed to score only 8 runs in the 3 game series, while allowing 30
The next two games are against Barry and FGCU, on Tues and Wed respectively. This is when we will be able to see how we can perform against teams who we are expected to beat. As for Barry, they come off a 3 win streak against Palm Beach Atlantic (never heard of them) and FGCU also comes from a 3 win streak against Southeastern where they made 37 runs and allowed 3 during the 3 game series... Lets hope we end their streak and show them what real competition is!
GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!

2006PA,
I appreciate the sunshine and the optimistic rationalization, but the truth is we got wupped on both times we played SC. Granted the beat down was less severe this time than in '06, but it's a beat down nonetheless.
I'm not going to jump off the bridge and scream that the sky is falling (yet). Our panthers best represent us against Barry and FGCU.
We'll have arrived as a sports program when we start dominating in the Sun Belt and hold our own against the big boys like SC.
As always, Go Panthers...gpantera

Yes, we lost three games against an established baseball powerhouse. I certainly felt good being at the game and although we lost I could feel the energy of the baseball players. Let's not start putting the team down and support them. Unless this the same old bandwagon fans that everyone complains about with the scUMs fans.

This team needs to get a few wins in a row to gain some confidence quickly. Because of the condensed schedule we start sun belt play pretty soon and they need to focus on those games the most.

Is it possible for us to start a chart with the W/L for the season? I can't seem to find a link online that has this for our baseball team.

Our bullpen is REALLY bad. FIU just had a 5 run lead in the 8th and gave up 6 runs in the inning, another grand slam hit off of us. We are now down 10-9 in the bottom of the 8th against Barry.

give it to us straight MaXx. Did we win or not? Yeah FIU ended up scoring 7 in the bottom of the 8th to take a 16-10 lead. Barry scored one more but the pitching finally stopped em and FIU won 16-11.

There is only so much the pitching staff can do... we need to recruit some pitchers that can handle the crazy back to back games and that have some speed.

Good news though, FIU beat Wagner tonight, 10-2.
