Good to hear about USC - has the schedule been posted anywhere yet?
Also, PP wrote after Coach Turtle Thomas was on the Descarga Deportiva show:
1) TT says: junior pitcher Steven Stewart, out of all last season with injury, is the real deal and can possibly be the No. 1 starter for FIU this season.
2) Watching lefty pitcher Corey Polizzano, TT immediately noticed Polizzano was tipping his pitches last season which may partly explain his 4-8 record. TT fixed that problem already and also has Polizzano hitting the weight room like never before.
3) Obviously, TT cannot be specific about recruits, but he did mention a catcher from Washington and another from Boston are supposedly headed to FIU next season. When he arrived to the DD show, TT mentioned he had just left the batting cage working with new FIU slugger Jorge Castillo.
Anyone catch the show - anything else noteworthy from the 15 minute interview??

TT says he has, I believe, 8 commitments so far! 3 of them were out of state, two catchers and a 2nd baseman/outfield. I read where local Killian Pitcher (a tall guy) also commited to FIU, so that's four...
Also, if I remember correctly, he mentioned there are 11 new players coming to FIU for this season, including some signed by the old staff, and some new, including Louisville's transfer Jorge Castillo, from Miami area high school.
I think he spoke about Chris Allen when talking about the "tip" before every pitch, and that Polizzano was now dedicated to the weight room, in order to improve his small physique and endurance. PP switched that, I think...

To summarize Turtle's interview: we have changed direction. Besides all the new commitments, Coach Thomas has secured new donors for the baseball program whose contributions will lead to upgrades for his sport.
Unlike other NCAA athletics, in baseball, student-athletes do NOT have to sit out a year when transferring to another school. That being said, expect ALOT of new faces on next year's squad.
