www.miamiherald.com/588/story/137922.htmlLOCAL ROUNDUP FIU closing in on baseball coach Florida International University athletic director Pete Garcia said he could make a decision on who the new Golden Panthers baseball coach will be as early as Thursday. ''The process for finding our new baseball coach has been excellent,'' Garcia said. ``There is a lot of interest and a lot of candidates. A decision could be made within 48 hours to 10 days.'' Garcia confirmed that he has interviewed University of Miami pitching coach J.D. Arteaga, assistant coach Gino DiMare, Le Moyne College coach Steve Owens, former FIU pitching coach and current South Carolina pitching coach Mark Calvi and is expected to interview Arizona State assistant coach Turtle Thomas today. Garcia would not comment specifically on the candidates vying to replace former FIU coach Danny Price, who was fired May 19. -- PETE PELEGRIN

I think it appears clear that Delmonico is not in PG's plan, at least right now it seems that way....Of the ones remaining, I really like Turtle Thomas as my #1 choice now as he was my 1a before....I guess we will find out soon enough....
