FIUFANATIC & DESCARGA who needs to research any facts it seems you 2 seem to know it all. why would DP resign or retire when he was not ready to go out. he was not given fair chance and PG did nothing to help FIU BASEBALL. If anything he slapped them in the face. You 2 call yourself real FIU fans and seem to be sooo concern about who the coach is but you are all for bringing in someone fom a rival team like um. For your info i do have my facts straight i could share alot with you about PG. LIKE I SAID do your research on him Im sure you will find some dirt and would change your mind. I dont need to do my research on DP i know him on a somewhat personal level and his family and they didn't deserve any of it. DP will be on top again in whatever he decides to do. you dont think that the campus police was told to say that. ( PLEASE ) Dp has nothing to gain bye lieing but PG does. We could sit hear and go back and forth about who is right BUT you can't argue the facts. Dp exit has nothing to do with what he has or hasnt done for FIU BASEBALL. You cant make it to Omaho if you dont have the right support and if fans stop going to games then they gave up . A TRUE FAN LOVES A TEAM NO MATTER WHAT.

Please, spare me with what is being an FIU fan...will ya? I am, has been, and will be a bigger fan of FIU than you have ever been....You don't know, obviously, what it means to be an FIU fan....As I suspected, you are emotionally attached to DP, and sometimes when you are emotional about something, it clouds your judgment. Your 7 posts so far in this, our FIU fan board, has been pretty much about the same, now old topic. Yet, you still want to come here and lecture me, and somehow, attempt to explain to us how you can really see the future as to who PG is hiring for this position. At this point, I don't care where he comes from, as long as he is successful and wins with class, dignity and representing our alma mater in good fashion. That is what fans do.
DP is a nice man, and I hate to see a nice man (heck, even not so nice men either) lose their job, and the angst it brings for family members and friends (like you presumably are). For that very same reason, emotional attachments like that tend to lessen reason and reported facts, and exchange them with innuendos, rumors, wrong or exxagerated perceptions, and perhaps even outright lies. However, after this year, I could see him being fired, by fellow friends who are FIU fans also could see his being his last season, many in the athletic department also could see this.....only DP, it seems, and some minorites like you, apparently were the ones that could not see this.
DP had not reached the regionals the last several years (someone said 5 years....wow!). I used to be one of his most fervent defenders with some of my fellow FIU fans that didn't think he was a good coach, and could never take us to the next level...I came to realize I had been wrong all along. I lost faith in him, not this season after the 2006 season...It is not PG's fault he didn't perform for those 5 years......So, would you also fault Mello for his apparent shortcomings all these previous years?...so, it is PG's fault FIU had a negative record this year? I have heard it all....So, you are also blaming the fans for FIU baseball NEVER....I REPEAT NEVER making it to Omaha? Please, give us a break...ridiculous statement....

Goodbye to DP; he knows he'll never have it better than he did here at FIU baseballgirl. We had some good times but the good times were becoming fewer and farther between. I'd be very surprised if he ever coaches at this level again.
Time for some new blood and some better baseball around here.
