whoshouse,
Welcome. You are not alone. The GPC (Golden Panther Community) is growing daily. Some of the old timers have been hanging in with FIU sports since the Sunblazer days. We encourage your participation, insight and enthusiams. Again, on behalf of all those that love FIU, welcome.

Well I am glad you feel so much better. There is no comparison FIU to UM and it does not have to do with one coach getting it done and the other one not. It is the mighty dollar. Big schools like scUM have the money to get the big players. Whoshouse are you in? I am not sure you are a um hater but a fence rider. FIUfootballer makes a good point. That will be interesting to see.

As a former graduate assistant with the baseball team from 2000-2002, I was there during the best times of the program. I witnessed the best day in our program when we arrived that Tuesday morning after defeating Notre Dame in Regionals. There were hundreds at the baseball stadium with tons of media there, that was special. I have personally known Danny for 10 years and despite those comments who don't know him well, he's a respected coach who goes the extra mile for his players. Danny is a great guy. He built this program. Talk to him for several minutes and he will tell how proud he is of our prgram. He brings up the names of Mikey (Lowell), Brad Eldred, Willy Collazo, Josh Banks, and others. He loves his players. I won't deny his recruiting of players has gone down, but Danny deserves the opportunity to go out with all the congratulations and honor. Karl and Danny built their respective programs. Here's to the future of FIU Nation but also not to forget those who helped us get there. Whatever happens to Danny, I wish him and his wife the best. His wife also bleeds blue and gold as she was my undergraduate advisor. I say the baseball stadium be renamed to the Danny Price Field.

That is a very good post, fiufan...It must be hard to those close to him to accept what a good portion (perhaps the majority?) of us, FIU Fans are thinking and wanting DP out after so many years, sacrifice, and thought into FIU baseball. However, as you imply, we all know there is a good chance Danny is out after this year....I agree with you though...He deserves appreciation for his years here...Name the Stadium, field, or something like that with his name.....We can part ways, I would hope, without demeaning the man, his accomplishments..that were many, and his name...
Go FIU!!! Here's to the future of FIU Athletics!!!
