FIU men's rally comes up short

MONROE, La. - Jonas Brown's 19 points led Louisiana-Monroe to a 77-69 victory over Florida International on Saturday and kept the Warhawks undefeated at home.
ULM (12-8, 6-2 Sun Belt) hit 7 of 8 free throws in the final minute and were 17-of-19 for the game. All their attempts were in the second half. They are 9-0 at home.
Florida International (8-11, 3-6) led 7-2 after four minutes, but 3-point baskets by Lance Brasher and Jordan Payne put ULM ahead 8-7.
The Golden Panthers tied the score at 22 with 5:48 left in the half, and again when Chris Fuller hit two free throws to tie the halftime score at 32-32.
FIU started the second half with a 6-2 run, and the lead changed hands five times before ULM moved ahead for good at 11 minutes, when Brown hit two free throws to make the score 50-49.
The Golden Panthers came within a basket of ULM five more times. They were led by 19 points from Chris Fuller; three others were in double figures.
