Mike Dominguez, a 6-3/180 guard from Northeastern CC in Colorado, has FIU high in his mind, when it comes to choosing a college to keep playing hoops. The article, in the Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper, implies he is already sold on FIU....I'm not sure if national signing day starts tomorrow or a week from tomorrow...According to article he averaged 11.8 points a game, and according to some links I read, he seems to be a 3-point scorer/shooter, as many of his points came off from deep....We will see...

Mike Dominguez is spending spring break in the wilderness of Wyoming.
Next year, it could be on the beaches in Miami.
"Here's his cell number, but he can't get any service up there," Ray Dominguez says with a laugh.
The father wasn't joking.
"If we wants to reach me, to tell me he's OK, he uses his girlfriend's phone."
Mike Dominguez can use the quiet time. Once he returns to campus, reporters won't the only ones dialing his digits.
Florida International University.
The University of Portland.
The University of Wyoming.
The University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
Montana State.
Fort Lewis College.
Those are a few of the colleges that have contacted Dominguez, a 6-foot-3 sophomore guard, who spent the past two seasons at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colo.
One already made it face-to-face.
"If someone wants Mike, they're going to have to come and climb the ladder," Dominguez says. "Florida International set the standard.
"The first day, they were in our home, recruiting Mike."
Head coach Sergio Rouco made a house call to Mike Dominguez and his family in EspaƱola on March 17. His pitch was to woo the Capital High School graduate to Miami, to its NCAA Division I University, to the Sun Belt Conference.
The impression was lasting.
On the son.
And the father.
"He offered the whole deal," Dominguez says. "Right now, we're sold."
Mike Dominguez can't sign on the dotted line. Not until April. In between, he plans an official visit to Florida International University later this month. It likely won't be the only campus he tours.
Florida International University, though, hits close to home. Ray Dominguez's home.
"The campus is 20 minutes from my mom's house," Dominguez says. "I'm picking up my bags and I'm following my son."
Mike Dominguez averaged 11.8 points per game this past season for Northeastern, which finished 30-4. He also averaged a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
"Seventeen years ago, we talked about this," Dominguez says. "About him getting a scholarship to play basketball in college. He did everything he needed to do to put himself in this position. I can't tell you how proud I am of him."
Even though he's in the back country, life's still a beach for Mike Dominguez.
Or, it could be.
