This team is so random. We win against the good teams in the conference but loose to the bad teams. I don't get it.

Well, the guys came off with a lot of passion and fire today. Galindo led the way, not just with points and rebounds, but with hustle and effort. Hicks seems to be playing a bit tougher under the basket. I love the way he is trying now to finish with dunks rather than with layups...as he plays above the rim. He almost made the play of the month/year with his "almost dunk" well above the defender and rim, where I still believe he was fouled....
It was fun seeing some friends and being in Pharmed Arena once again......Go FIU!!!

Good solid win. Lets hope we can keep this up! www.miamiherald.com/sports/story/395894.htmlFIU 75, N. ORLEANS 62 FIU rolls to victory BY PETE PELEGRIN ppelegrin@MiamiHerald.com With the way Florida International has been playing lately -- it had lost of 10 of its past 12 games -- it would not have been surprising to learn it had been evicted from its arena. Because of a recent FIBA Americas League tournament, the Golden Panthers' logo was missing from midcourt when they played New Orleans on Sunday afternoon at Pharmed Arena. FIBA officials tore the FIU logo when they removed their own logo. Despite their missing trademark, the Golden Panthers still prevailed. Forward Alex Galindo and center Russell Hicks combined for 40 points and 18 rebounds to lead FIU to a 75-62 victory. Galindo had 23 points and 10 rebounds for his second double-double in the past three games. Hicks added 17 points and eight rebounds. The Privateers (14-7, 4-5 Sun Belt) entered Sunday's game with a 6-1 road record, including upsets over then-No. 21 N.C. State and Colorado, but a stingy second-half defense helped FIU (6-13, 3-6) secure the victory. ''We gave them no second shots in the second half,'' FIU coach Sergio Rouco said. ``We contested every shot. We were playing a bigger lineup and we used our size as an advantage.'' After taking a 31-28 halftime lead, the Golden Panthers began the final 20 minutes on a 16-6 run, including 10 points from Galindo. Galindo, who has found his shooting stroke, hit two three-pointers during the run. Later in the second half, FIU went on a 12-3 run to take a 60-42 lead with 6:04 left. 'It's like I told my teammates, `Right now we got nothing to lose. We can't go down. The only thing we can do is go up,' '' said Galindo, who has totaled 57 points in FIU's past two home games. ``I think that has helped us a lot, because we're more relaxed. We've got that mind-set to go out and play, and play free.''
