Nice interview with FIU's alumn, Raja Bell, who will also have his FIU number retired on December 8, when we play UM at the Pharmed Arena....

What's it like coming back to Miami (He has an apartment downtown and went to FIU)?
It's always good to be home, get to see the family. It's always a joy to get to come home, and you always want to perform well in front of the home crowd.
Do you follow the Heat much?
As much as I can. It's hard when you're playing every other night to follow everybody. But I'm always a Heat fan. I was here when they had the parade for the championship a couple years ago, and I thought that was great for the city. So I keep up with them as much as I can.
What do you think of the league this year? It seems like some of the teams that were up are down, and vice versa.
I think you see a little bit more parity in the league now. A lot of these kids that haven't played a lot the last couple years who are really young are starting to grow into their own, and you'll probably witness , in my opinion, a changing of the guard in the next few years. So there's going to be a lot of teams that people don't expect to win games winning a lot of games this year.
What about the Kobe Bryant situation, given your history with him? (Bell was suspended for a playoff game in 2006 for clothes-lining Bryant).
Yeah, Kobe and I are cool. We've got a nice rapport now. It's not a beef thing. I hope it works out great for him, and the Lakers can get out of it what they want. But it's business at the end of the day, and you've always got to remember that.
