Found out the men's basketball team will play its first round SBC game on Wednesday at FAU. The good thing is many of you can make it to that game and cheer for our team. It seems some of their players are suspended, but most likely coming back for our game.
Show up there and let's beat those ugly birdies.....

I'm not sure, but anywhere from 7 to 8pm should be tip-off. FAU has done a great job in selling this "rivalry" in Boca for other sports other than football. Their fans make jokes of our lack of fan support (as if they are on another level ), so all of you that can, should go there and support our team in a really fun environment.....

I searched and all I can find is the times for the quater-finals, semi-finals, and championship games, but nothing on the times for the first round games When someone gets the update on the time of the opening round games please post. I have a class starting at 5:00-7:00, so if it starts at 8:00 I can make it to Boca on time. Also, any news on Galindo if he is well enough to play or not?

Fanatic, don't try selling the game as a chance to build a rivalry....it's just fau, who cares...but I do encourage everyone to go so that you can support our Golden Panthers.

FIUPantherFan, its not a rivalry!? Are you kidding me? Aside from UM, I very much do believe FAU is a rival not just in basketball, but in football as well, hence the Shula bowl. Granted, its a much friendlier rivalry than UM, but they are still a DIV1 team in our very same conference!
Any word on Gallindo? I would be pretty surprised if he plays, that seemed to be a very painful sprain. I used to play ball on my HS team and being 6'4", I know what a sprain is on a big body. He couldn't even put weight on it, not a good sign. Typically, sprains that you can't walk off within ten minutes or so require at least 2 weeks to heal 100%....at least in my experience.
I am sooooo going to the game. Please pass on time information.
ROAR!

Your a joke..."it's FAU, who cares". If you haven't noticed we have been kicking your butts since you guys thought you could pretend to be a division I school. If you think your rivalry is with Miami you're making as clown of yourself. That's like FAU believing that we have have a rivalry with Florida because we play them on the 2007 schedule. We understand it is going to take time to be competitive on that level consistently but we do know we can whip you guys in just about any sport and academically. It's easy to say it doesn't matter when you have absolutely no fan base and you can't win. ;D

Hey, please, don't come here hurling those insults. Relax man, I would say he is being a bit sarcastic in his comments....I would hope you are referring to this season, since the overall record...my friend...is not what you might think it is....It is now 11-7 in favor of FIU.... ;D ;D..It shows immaturity on your part to post without knowing what you are doing.... Also, look at your board who has been constantly making fun, going crazy over there, while this board barely ackowledged you. That is the truth.... My friend, ;D ;D...your ignorant comments about FAU owning us in just about any sport...and let alone academically is the best joke of all ;D

Thanks fanatic, but seriously, I will be watching the Lady Panthers at home and listening to the men's game on the Radio. Like I said, no matter who wants to start a rivalry, if the other side doesn't care then it's not much of one.

The comment initially was based on this season's BB results which we are 2 - 0 since that was what the thread was referring to. But since you brought it up I think if I'm correct we are 4 - 1 in the most important game FOOTBALL. It appears your ignorance is showing.

I know it's hard to go watch your team get spanked.

Per your own board there were only 10 FIU fans at the basketball game and very minimal at the football game. FIU fans have spoken in their lack of interest for fau by not showing up and not really paying much attention to it. Compare that to the fans who went to see FIU play um at the Orange Bowl (over 20k) and those that went to see FIU play UM at the convocation center. As a matter of fact, I went to the USF game in Tampa, and I'm willing to bet there were more FIU fans there than at Pro Player. So, no I don't speak for FIU fans, they've already spoken.

Do you have any idea how pathetic that sounds, you guys really need to get a grip on who your teams are and at what level they are playing. If you can't compete and support your teams at this level how do you ever think your going to move up. Your NOT. The only reason 20k showed up for the Miami game is that you all grew up routing for the Canes and for one reason or another you couldn't go to the U so you went to FIU. Reality sucks sometimes doesn't it. Why don't you guys try showing up Wednesday, maybe you got a shot...oh that's right you'd rather lose another game to FAU. Not that you have much of a choice.
