Don Strock was quick to pull your kicker out after a rough start. I wonder what would happen if your athletic director acted like the FIU football coaches at the last game. I think they would all be replaced, competing for their jobs with other football coaches. I use the term "coach" in the most vague sense of the word.
After your first few seasons of scarce victories, did your athletic director lose faith in Strock? Obviously not, as he is still the "coach." However, if roles were reversed, he would have been OUT right after the first rough season. Instead, you people are stuck with Strock....
Have a little faith people. Coaches are supposed to pick the guys up, not knock them down. After knowing Moss for years, you would think the coaching staff would know how he performs: He competes well under pressure (judging from last season, as the team's highest scorer), but if he messes up, he's hardest on himself. The last thing any kicker (think UF, Miami, Tennessee....need I go on?) needs are coaches losing their confidence in the kicker. The teams I mentioned above, all awesome D-1 teams, all had VIP kicking issues these past few weeks. Did their coaches lose faith? I don't think so. And coaching like that is what separates good teams from......well, everyone else.
Instead of beating on the kicker, try out the coaches. What the hell are they doing out on the field anyways? Have you ever seen one approach the kicker? No. Watch the game this week.....and fire the coach.
