It is obvious that the kicking game was not up to par in the game against YSU! But there are many factors to be taken into consideration before we start to bash the kickers. The first is Moss's improvement from the first year to the second, the first he was 3 for 9, which is terrible the second year is a drastic improvement of 14 for 22, which is an improvement of over 30%. However, it is not perfect! Another thing is that is was the first game of the season and we cannot use one game espeacially the first as a future outlook for how things are going to fair for the remaining games. If one was watching any of the college games these past 2 weekends we should notice that every school seemed to have issues in their kicking games. The worst mistake that we could make is find a quick fix solution. Moss will settle in and become more relaxed and I am sure that no-one is more upset with the his productivity then him. We should not forget that this kid went 7/8 in the last two games of the season last year one was in over time to put them ahead of Gardner-webb, and in the game against FAU it was him who put us ahead. So I think that though he is far from perfect we should not discount his improvement and past success.

I think Moss should keep the job, he showed last year that he got better, he just had a bad day. I'm sure he'll get better but I would like to see us go after a kicker for next season.

I don't really think that we were talking about field goal kicking, though there's room for improvement there as well. We were really concerned about the extra points. We missed two of those; one would have won the game and the other miss left the game in jeapordy in the overtime. Missing p.a.t.'s is inexcusable at any level, much less D-I football.

Whoever wrote that first entry about the kickers is an absolute idiot. Poor spelling and punctuation should not be allowed on this web-site. I sure hope this is not an entry from a FIU student.
