Here's how the Herald leads the story for the Dalai Lama visit to S. Fla. www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/local/9689420.htm:
Devotees eager to see Dalai Lama
Buddhist spiritual leader the Dalai Lama returns to South Florida, on Saturday, for five days of public talks and religious teachings.
Now Here's the Herald's "schedule of events":
• Saturday: A 10 a.m. speech followed by a question-and-answer session at Nova Southeastern University, 3301 College Ave., Davie. No tickets available.
• Sunday: A 3 p.m. discussion, World Peace Through Inner Peace at the Office Depot Center, 2555 NW 137th Way, Sunrise. Tickets, which are $16.50 to $96.50, can be bought from Ticketmaster, by calling 305-358-5885 and 954-523-3309, or by going to www.ticketmaster.com.
• Monday and Tuesday: Two-day workshop Instructions on the Garland of Views, derived from a text by Padmasambhava, a Buddhist saint, is from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. at the University of Miami Convocation Center, 1245 Walsh Ave., Coral Gables. Price per day is $15 to $95; two-day packages are $30 to $190. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.
• More details: Go to www.odn-usa.org
Notice anything missing? Where's the fifth days events? Guess where he's supposed to be on the fifth day (Weds. the 22nd) , that's right, you guessed it; he's scheduled to be at FIU all day. Hmmm, very interesting, the Herald conveniently omits the fifth day.
Are they racist? or just very sloppy? I have my theories. Maybe their part of that Liberal media, like Dan Rather and CBS, it sure would make sense. 8-)They seem to be shaping the news to fit an agenda.
Here's the FIU link to prove my point (http://news.fiu.edu/releases/2004/06-23_dalai_lama.htm).
