As an observer (not an insider); as far as the team being in "disarray"...maybe not. Sometimes unsatified (or maybe even "uncoachable" players) leaving is better for the "team". I am not saying this is the case, but often it is. This team appears to be going in a different direction, aiming for cohesive attitudes and abilities. As an observer of baseball in general for many years, many times the team that does the best is perhaps not the one most loaded with "stars" but the one that has the most united effort. Casanova, for example, is a good catcher. He has not had success here for a variety of reasons, including injury...Clemson is a great baseball school with a very good coach (Leggett)...as is FIU, but a change may provide him with a different outlook that could possibly jumpstart his abilities. This is good for all. After reading the newspaper article referenced above, it is quite obvious he was not happy here, so hopefully this was a good move for all. As far as certain players not playing, well, if you put them in and they don't produce (regardless of what a "scout" may see) a coach has to try someone else. The talent is there, but college coaches are not afforded the luxury of "developing" a player the way the minors are. In my humble and not expert opinion, with the core group remaining and the new players being brought in, we will see a very good team in 05.

Very true. Adrian has LOTS of potential. He is an amazing catcher. With much respect to Cody, we have noticed that Adrian's arm is better than his.

I see Adrian's potential also...just curious, how did you come to that conclusion?

MaXx & I noticed his arm's power watching him warm up on the field and compared him to Cody's arm power. Both are great catchers though. Cody is awesome.

Your conclusion may be correct. So many things factor into good catching; arm strength, soft hands (receiving) and quick feet. In my opinion, Casanova is also a very good "receiver". I am not sure why he did not have a better season, hopefully the change will do him good. The reason I asked was because often people judge a catcher's "ability" or "arm" by base-stealing #'s, but those can be deceiving...often, the runner steals on the pitcher, not the catcher. By the time the pitcher has "delivered" the ball to the catcher, the runner is already 3/4 to the base. No catcher can get him.

Casanova is going to Clemson. Hernandez may also go to the Tigers. Aragon is going to either N C State or Troy State. Yema is still undecided. Players feel the coaches stabbed them in the back with some of the moves made during the off season. Lazer Collazo should be our new head coach. As far as recruits Danny Jordan and the pitcher from Belen HS they are not coming. They are either signing pro contracts or going to BCC. Very few kids are happy with the present situation. M Lopez may leave, Rivero and Diaz are also unhappy and our pitching staff is a mess. Melo open your eyes baby. Price should go! BREING IN COLLAZO OR DELMONICO OR MAKE CAZAS THE HEAD COACH.

It is my undestanding that Cas, Aragon and Hernandez are leaving for sure. All 7 recruits for next year are going elsewhere. Either signing pro or going the jc route. Kids that were thinking of transfering in are not. Our coaches are recruiting a bunch of jucos from other states (Arizona, Okla. etc) to fill in. Lopez I hear is staying and Yema may also stay. Can anybody with inside knowledge tell us who is going and who is staying.
