Seven baseball players, including 2 or possibly 3 starters quit the baseball team, as a result of dissatisfaction with the coaching staff. Starters Yema, Aragon, and Casanova head the list of defectors. Rivera, Hernandez and M Lopez may follow suit. Who has the complete list of defectors?

Ok, where the heck did you get this information because I can't find a drop of info about this.

If this were true, it would totally blow. Yema & Casanova are two of my favorites. I am crossing my fingers in hopes that it's just a silly rumor.

i think a good amount of players decided to try pro ball??? If that's the case that's fine, but this guy is saying that players are leaving because of the coaching staff. I haven't heard anything about this.

Exactly. Plus, it doesn't look anymore valid when the person who posted is just a guest. Could've just been someone passing by to cause confusion and start rumors. We'll find out soon enough once baseball season starts again, maybe even before that.

there were a huge number of departures. most went to play pro ball. only 2 players left for "other reasons."
i don't have the list of players that left, but i only think there was one surprise (i can't remember which one). casanova was known to be leaving after this season anyways (daddy was gonna pick him up), decarlo was another one we knew. the coaching staff wasn't shocked.

If that's the case than it's normal doings. This guy makes it seem like half the team was leaving because of the coaching staff. I'd like to see some stability on the team, especially after such a tough season. Hopefully next season will be better

Does anyone have the link to the recent BB draft. It should be quite easy to determine if these players were drafted, and if so where.
Every year some players leave teams for academic or personal reasons. As I have pointed out on the main message board, the responsibility for bringing student-athletess to FIU is the President to some small degree, but primarily the responsibility of the AD, the Athletic Department and the Coaches. If we have coaches who can't recruit, and it is safe to say that collectively they can't recruit, and I am not even sure they can coach, the incompetent individuals must be giving their walking papers, just like in the real world.

I think that unfortunately Sheff is right. Under our baseball website under summer league updates they took off Aragon and Yema. Both were doing really good too. I had heard that the players were disatisfied with our new hitting instructor; making them wait to hit until they had two strikes. I hear Dolgos , Casanova, Yema, Pardo, and possibly Lopez are transfering to other schools. Hernandez, who was playing with Aragon in the summer is seriously thinking of transfering to a Carolina school. I heard that Aragon and Hernandez may wind up at Clemson. Wow I hope I am wrong. Lets get a new coach -- Lazer Collazo would love to come over --Hear this Rick?

Casanova is definitely going to Clemson University. There is an article in "The State" newspaper (SC) dated Sat. June 26, 2004 titled:" Santangelo turns pro, but replacement set" by Jon Solomon. Interesting article. Sorry I do not know how to do a link.
