Well there have been four spring practices so far, and they just had their first scrimmage!
My reaction is that we still have some issues regarding our WR's dropping some catchable passes. I also have noticed that our O-line is doing well some plays, and then blowing assignments in others.
Now for the good news!
1) Our receivers are making some nice catches
2) Our QB's (McCall, Hughes and Anderson) are looking pretty good, still some rust. McCall made some good passes, and showed good touch. Hughes shows extremely good wheels and has the baility to make some good passes, and Anderson shows good arm strength and improved accuracy.
3) Our RB's tore it up, they found the holes, showed a good burst to get through, and when they were in the open field they really looked to take it to the house every time.
4) Our D-line showed bits of dominance, getting to the QB and knocking down passes.
5) Our LB's/DB's made good plays and really flew to the ball. The DB's looked to take the head off of whoever the ball was thrown too. The LB's showed good hitting and the ability to stuff the holes up and delevered strong hits during goal line situations.
The Legg brand offense looks really good, the guys seem to have picked it up well. I think FIU has really made some strides, and the coaches seem to have made their way into these guy's heads. They play fast and aggressive, and don't stop playing until the whistle. You can't ask for much more!

i was at the game the one thing that has stuck w/ me is the drop passes in the endzone.. one reciever got good separation and had the best angle to the ball and flat out dropped it... it was tough to watch lol Paul did a great job theres no doubt about it. he flat out dominated the First Team/second team. D. Hughes and C. Anderson still need a bit of work b/c i seem to notice that when they were in the D stepped it up.. other than that it was a great practice. great to see long runs and crisp passing for the most part. cant wait to see what another week of practice does for these guys. just a quick question. have any of the incoming Frosh come by to watch some of these practices? thats something i would like to see is the new GPanthers on the sidelines w/ the fans just watching. seeing what they can pick up.
