Right now, we're trying to sell all of the tickets to PIKE Members. As the season approaches, we will open up sales to the general public. Thank you for your interest.

shouldn't we be tailgating BY the new stadium and not further away from it? I think it's a good idea but to get the right well 'college football game atomsphere' we should tailgate by the stadium.
Just my thoughts..

Yep, plus wouldn't it make it that much harder to get to the stadium after a few "recreational" beverages.

and UCF travels VERY WELL. we need to have the opening of the stadium start off right.
and is FIU Athletics really partnering with your fraternity for this? I think anything that has to do with FIU and Athletics in general they wouldn't be participating in things that won't sell tickets to the well 'general public' right away. If you want a lot of people to go to your pre-game party it should be moved.

Let me clear a few things up for you guys.
This event is aimed towards the Alumni Members of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. It's not open to the public right now because we're hoping to sell all 100 tickets to PIKE members.
For those of you who think tailgating at the PIKE House is too far from that stadium, you probably have never walked from the PIKE House to the Stadium on a game day like I have. It's not a long walk AT ALL. And, if you really think about it... the blue and gold garages are going to be used for parking on gamedays. The garages are not much closer than the PIKE House. Trust me... we're not too far. And if you've ever been to UF for a game day you'll see that all the Fraternities that have houses across the street from the stadium tailgate at their house with all of their alumni. We're trying to create the traditional college game day atmosphere.
Also, I don't know how UCF travels... but USF (which is the team we're playing the first game) travels pretty well. You are right that we need to do this thing right. And we're trying to do that. We're creating excitement within our organization for this huge event. And it's going to pay off.
Also... FIU Athletics is helping us with a silent auction we're holding to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Finally, I never thought that people on this board would talk negatively about a student organization planning a large scale event for the biggest day in FIU Sports. You guys get on here and bang on your keyboards about how the greek organizations need to step up and show support. Well, PIKE has always shown support. And now, when we try to do something real special for our alumni in support of FIU Football, we get backlash from people. Does that make sense to you guys?!
We're trying to spread the word about FIU Football. We're trying to bring in Alumni who normally wouldn't go to games. We're doing this because we love FIU Football. Is that not enough for you guys?!

I agree with Danny - I applaud them for their efforts and think it's a good idea. The more the greeks get involved and connected, alumni as well, the quicker attendance gains will start trickling in. And as far a having college atmosphere for the tailgate, I wouldn't worry too much about that for this game, it will be a sold out with thousands tailgating before. Worry more about the following game.
