Well, rivals website, through FIU's rivals Pantherblitz.com's writer Mike Stampini, is reporting that former Homestead High WR/DB All State player, Alphonso Bryant just visited FIU this past Tuesday with the possible intent of registering and enrolling during the Summer. This 6-0/195 4-star recruit originally signed with UCF, after being recruited by all the "big ones", but left early during Fall due to family illness back home. He didn't play in a single game and has the waivers signed by UCF coach O'Leary, and they are determining with the NCAA whether he could start playing right away at another school (hopefully FIU) or would have to sit out a year.... If this happens, this would be FIU's first 4-star recruit to come aboard, although not straight from high school. Rivals and Scout both rated him as a 4-star player. Rivals final ranking of 2007 ranked him as the nation's #19 ranked WR...and as Florida's overall #26 recruit!!! Scout, meanwhile, had him ranked as the nation's # 30 WR recruit in the country, while Orlando Sentinel had him ranked as #13 player overall in Florida as a Senior!! I think you're right, maybe he could help us out on the recruiting trail, but I think our new facilities and proof of heading in the right direction (such as a winning record) will speak loud enough.
