I haven't heard anything regarding the offensive coordinator position and was wondering if any of you had any insight as to who will be replacing Coley. They will have big shoes to fill.

I think we will hear within the next 2 weeks before spring practice rolls around. I'm looking forward to seeing who they will hire.

This is a huge hire for us. I hope Pete Garcia and Coach Cristobal take their time and get the best offensive mind available. We need an x's and o's guy, someone who brings out the best in his players and coaches. Our offense was next to last in D-1 last year, so there's a lot of room for improvement. Our QB can't lead our offense in rushing again next year.

Honestly that is prolly what we needed more of. I think we needed to run more plays to utilize the running ability of our QB's, he sure couldnt throw too well.
A two QB system wouldn't be too far off of a possibility honestly. With McCall and Younger switching off. McCall has a better arm than Younger but Younger can move out of the pocket better than McCall.
I think an option attack would be in order especially with a shifty back like Perry coming in.. Who coaches using that style offense?
A problem is, were in the lowest cellar of the D1-FBS and our HC and staff doesn't quite have the prestige to pull in an established OC. So we gotta find a guy who's relatively unknown. Prolly in D-2.

OK so THe OC Job is posted all over the internet. That Is not a good sign sports fans!!! Usually a job like that is posted on the School site for leagal purposes, but the coach usually has a short list of who he wants. In my opinion if there was someone on the staff he felt was ready he would have already named him, and I do not think the job would be posted on some of the most visible football websitres in the biz.

Why it is not a good sign...because he wanted to go, or at least probe, outside of the current staff?...or because of timing issues?

What I mean is that I am concerned they do not have a person in mind. Remember they have built the team around a specific offense. usually you know guys around the country that know the offense and you try to bring them in. But if you are posting all over the place.... The perception to me is that this might be a longer and FIU may not have an OC in place as quickly as they like. Coley Leaving was not an overnight deal.

The Head Coach job was up there before MC was hired.
