ARod and myself both called in today. I asked him about his goals for this season. He mentioned that this year he can't use the excuse that they made mistakes because of how young they are, they have to win football games. This year we need some big wins.
I asked about the Orange Blossom Classic and he said that it would be a yearly thing for a good amount of years down the road. He said it won't always be the last game of the season and that they may make it the first game of the season next year. I also talked about scheduling other big teams before the stadium is built at the Orange Bowl and stuff and he mentioned that it would be too tough to go around UM's scheduled to do that and that building a new football stadium would help in scheduling those bigger schools down here.
Someone named Jeff asked why we received a vote in the I-AA poll and he mentioned that it may have been that they conducted the poll before they knew about our decision to move to I-A. I can't recall anything else right now...ARoD?!

Here are the ?uestions that I asked and the responses... I asked about whether they would stay on ESPN 790AM when the change happens? I asked about whether the show format would return to the original 90min. or stay at 60 min. as it is now? When will we have a Fan Appreciation Day for FIU? I know that we’ve scheduled some high-caliber competition in the future versus Alabama, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Iowa…..When will we start up a rivalry with our cross town rival, UM, since we have close ties to them? Will the dates of the practices be posted so the fans can turn out to see them? Today, MaXx and I, along with some other callers were able to keep it mainly about the FIU program. Good turnout and keep it coming

Thanks for the info and Good Job Maxx and ARod!! That show may be our best avenue for information that we discuss here daily, and having it gone to waste for over 45 minutes is a pity.
I get that the 790 saga is still going on...no decision yet made...I hope the show goes back to 90 minuets...at least during the season. Good questiona and good to hear that the Orange Blossom Classic appears to be a yearly events for, at least, some years...Great tool to increase average attendance!!
Interesting question about why we received votes in the I-AA poll....a lot of confusion, even among us diehard fans, exists on this issue...Hope some of you can make it to "Fan Appreciation Day" on August 24th and report to those of us that can't make it.....
Again, thank you!! Any other comments?

It was definitely a better show this week. They spent the first 15-20 minutes talking about the Dolphins but the rest of the show was dedicated to FIU and that's how it should be. Get ready to call in next week and come up with some more questions.

Gotta agree, wholeheartedly!! ;D Much better show this week without Marie Claire, Caswell, Special K, etc. I always compile ?uestions throughout the week and ask those. I'll continue to do the same. See ya' next week, same time, same place (6:00p on WAXY 790AM).
