With discussions about stadiums in different boards in this "dead" football period, I found interesting some discussions on UCF's board about our "little" stadium. Mostly negative stuff which is kind of expected, but interesting to see their perspective. Of course, we can always play either at Pro Player and/or Orange Bowl for some games as we are doing this year. Here are a couple of more people( Georgia Southern fans) dogging our stadium. As for the stadium.....VERY DISAPOINTED! It is nothing more than a high school stadium, and even that is a stretch. It reminded me of the stadium in Garden City for those that know the area. I would also estimate that Memorial Stadium in Savannah is bigger than FIUs. They were in the process of putting up tempoary stands to increase the seating, but it looked pathetic. There is a track around the football field as well so the seats are far removed from the field. Gata and I guestimated that the visitors side holds 2 MAYBE 3K. In my opinion, the home side at Effingham County is much larger than FIU's. And thier pressbox is without a doubt smaller than Statesboro High School's pressbox. www.southern-connection.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9954&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

Everything that's been said is pretty accurate. The stadium as it stands now is completely unacceptable as a 1A stadium. That's why it'll be rebuilt.

They need to realize that our school is going into it's 3rd year. While every other school is playing in a stadium that is not on their campus, our situation allows for students as well as alumni to admire the growth of our university. We can enjoy the surroundings of the campus as well as a football game in the same location. Give us 5-10 years and then we can discuss what we DON'T HAVE!!!! Don't feed into it. It will just fuel an unnecessary fire. We'll let our actions speak on the football field.
