My vote goes to Rashod Smith! The star of the team in it's 1st season. Just stay healthy and he should repeat by running all over Jacksonville in the opener. Their D-line was so porous during that Halloween game.
As for Diamos, doesn't look like he will be running anywhere, anytime soon!
RUSH ON, Rashod!!!! ;D

I have to vote for Rashod also. He's not the toughest Running back but he seems to have the best vision for holes when he's in the game. Adam is a good guy to have when we need to pound the ball, especially if the opposing teams D-Line isn't too big. We definitely need some more depth at the RB position though.

I think using Adam Gorman and Rashod Smith both will be a nice set-up. They are different type running backs and would work well together. Have games where they both have 100 yards in the same game, like the record breaker one Gorman had with Demerritt last season. Rashod is a quicker but Gorman can pound it for yards. I think they compliment each other. And, I think they can both be healthy and have a better chance of keeping Rashod healthy if the work is divided up in the games. Only makes sense. I think when using the one back set a lot, it is too much for just one back to do the work alone. Use them in and out, gives the coaches a chance to run different types of plays, as well as giving the backs a breather here and there. Plus I think it keeps the other team guessing a little more. They both have a lot to offer this team, Rashod has shown it in the past and surely Gorman showed it last year. This year they are older, bigger and stronger and I think both are very ready for the season to begin. The more they work together the better they will be.

I like Gorman, he is tough. Him and Rashod running together, sounds good to me.

Rashod Smith should start. By the way anyone think that any of the new freshman recruits could come in and play right away at running back, speed is whats needed.

Those two working together would kinda remind me of the 1st year when Rashod Smith and Jerrid Lundstedt worked together in the backfield. They complimented each other very well. And they both had great years. Unfortunately, according to Coach Strock after that first great year, Jerrid went on to become a firefighter with his father. As for Tori Robinson, he was having some cardiac problems for the first two years of his career here at FIU. I'd like to see what he's all about. I have never been a big fan of Diamos Demerritt and have always thought that Rashod was a much better and quicker talent. They can easily slide Adam Gorman into the fullback spot since he seems to be the bigger, stronger back. He reminds me of one of the backs that play for the Nebraska Cornhuskers or Pittsburgh Steelers. The hardnosed, tough type. Rashod is a prime example of the speed and talent that Miami is known for. They both have great vision and can have a great year together. ;D

I agree with you guys. The two of them would be great in the backfield. Even if Strock uses the one back set more, use them both. One for speed, one for power. In and out, maybe that will keep everyone healthy as well. Got to think of that, especially when the spot isn't deep with veterans. We could enjoy a few games of them each getting 100 yards in the same game, that would be pretty sweet. Be BAAAD backs like in the new 2005 NCAA Football game!!! Let The Games Begin!!! ;D

I AGREE AS WELL WITH EVERYONE, GORMAN IS A POUNDER AND RASHOD HAS A HISTORY OF HAVING SOME ACHES AND PAINS THROUGHOUT THE TOUGH, GRUELING SEASON. TO MY UNDERSTANDING, IT LOOKED AS IF GORMAN PLAYED WITH A BRACE LAST YR FOR AN MCL INJURY FROM WHAT I HEARD AND PLAYED d**n WELL OBVIOUSLY, SO HE GETS MY VOTE FOR STARTER BECAUSE HE CAN WITH STAND THE POUNDING OF A TOUGH 1A SCHEDULE BUT BOTH OF THEM SHOULD SPLIT THE TIME AND LEAD FIU TO RECORD SETTING VICTORIES THROUGHOUT THE YR.

Gorman seems to play whether he is hurt or not, I see NO weakness there, he is definately a pounder as you say. We need that, it wins games!! I think him and Rashod spliting it up will work good in a lot of ways, and will help keep Rashod healthy. I heard Gorman wore a brace too, sure couldn't tell. I would give him the nod as starter also, he deserves it after what he did last year. And split the time between him and Rashod. I see good things happening there!!
