I don't ever recall seeing any FIU T-shirts or anything outside of the bookstore on campus. However, lately i've seen two examples of FIU clothing in regular stores. The Champs Sports stores in International and Dadeland mall both had an FIU T-shirt for sale. Also, the Wal-mart on 87th Avenue had 2 different FIU T-shirts. I've bought one of each T-shirt because they were pretty cheap (no more than 10 bucks) and to (hopefully) show there is a market for FIU clothing.

Thanks for that update Maxx. For years we were told it was 'the ol' chicken or egg dilema' with outside vendors for FIU merchandise; the retailers wouldn't carry it because they didn't know if there was demand for it and how could there be demand if no one carried it.
I have yet to see any FIU merchandise outside of FIU's sanctioned areas, though I live very close to the two retail outlets you mentioned. If I see FIU merchandise out there, I'm definately going to buy it up.[/size]

They should, at the very least, carry it throughout the South Fla. area. But I think that the respect comes with wins on the football field. Even though we've won on the soccer field, the public doesn't consider that enough. It's sad but true. Look at how you can find UM merchandise at each sports outlet to every department store. We just have to do what FIUFan and MaXx are doing by buying it wherever we see it.

I remember a few years back, some FIU shirts being sold at the K-Mart in 8th St. and 127?
Good to hear that. We need to start buying some of the shirts and stuff outside the FIU Bookstore to start creating some type of "market" to the retailers. Thanks for the heads up.
