Does anyone know how to go about getting a copy of the Phil Steel College Football Preview? I've heard some of our players were mentioned and I'd like to check it out. I've searched on the internet and just seeing people referring to it, but cannot locate the preview itself. If I do find it in the mean time, I'll post what it say's!

Phil Steele's College Football Preview preseason.stassen.com/review/phil-steele.htmlNorthcoast Sports P.O. Box 35126 Cleveland, OH 44135 Phone: 800-654-3448 (orders) Web site: www.ncsports.com$9.95, 328 pp. Year reviewed: 2004 Overview: Phil Steele's has great in-depth coverage. All teams get exactly the same amount of coverage: two full pages. The magazine is fairly long, and it contains relatively few advertisements and no feature articles. As a result, it contains more information than any other preview magazine, with the possible exception of the much heavier (and far more expensive) Blue Ribbon. In addition, about a hundred abbreviations are used to increase information density. Most of the abbreviations are standard (e.g., "DB" = "defensive back"), but some are not (e.g., "VHT" = "very highly touted (top recruit)"). The result can be a little hard to read, but well worth the effort. This information is posted for your benefit. I have never seen or read this magazine.

I saw the magazine, it has two pages dedicated to FIU. It's pretty good but I didn't buy it.

As someone else posted, they give two full pages of information on each Division I-A teams. Steele included both FIU and FAU as part of I-A this year. He analyzes each position with its possible starters returning. He actually ranks FIU as the fourth (4th) most improved team in the nation this year. He predicts FIU will have an over .500 season.
Pretty informative magazine. Kind of cool to give us so much space....

I think his prediction (only a guess here) is probably based on FAU's success last year. I won't believe in our improvement till I see it with my own two eyes .[/size]

I received Phil Steele's preview and I must say as a person who loves the game but is not "all knowing" I think it's a very good book. We had several players make the Phil Steele 2004 Independent Team. Here's where FIU placed:
1st Team: DL - Mike Sherrill SS - John Haritan P - Doug Jones KR - Greg Moss PR - Greg Moss
2nd Team: RB - Adam Gorman WR - Harold Leath C - Victor Cernius G - John Taylor T - John Shanahan DL - Damian Haye LB - Antwan Barnes
For those of you wanting to have trivia for our rivalry, FAU only placed 8 players on this list versus our 11. Keep in mind that our players are being compared to Notre Dame and Navy, which says a lot considering how mature thier programs are.
Very anxious for this season to start! ;D
