awesome, I say they just keep going. Anyone have a few millions lying around so that they can get this puppy done all in one shot. Wish I did.

I wish they'd just go straight to 45,000 now or atleast the 35,000 design lol! Great news though, the stadium is looking amazing.

I think the new stadium seating should be left at 18k, or whatever it will be when phase I is completed, until we can actually fill it. Putting aside the obvious financial constraints of such a move, why would we expand to 45,000 so quickly? So it looks like we have 500 to 1,000 people at a home game like it seemed we did this year at the OB? Once we have a few winning seasons under our belt, and a larger fanbase, we can think of expanding. Until then, it's premature IMO.

I'm pretty sure the expansion is to 23,500 right? That's what it said in the construction document.

Once the first phase is over in 2008, I'm pretty sure they will at least "enclose" the stadium with the lower bowl once the construction of the student center is slated to be built...if not before...the "new", bigger bleachers on the north side will add approximately 5,000-8,000 seats, and eliminating approximately 3,000 seats from the older, smaller, farther away 'current' bleachers...The net gain from this "enclosure" will be anywhere from 2,000 to 5,000 additional "net" gain in seats. Thus, seating will increase to approximately 20,000 to 23,000 before any major "expansion" of a second deck is done....which is, as FIUBlue82 implies, contingent on the future of the program itself...

Thanks for those great pics.....Keep 'em coming...again...THANK YOU! It is looking real...real good...
This is definitely an advantage in recruiting that MC can actually show recruits the first phase being built, as compared to other programs with outdated stadiums, off campus, or just some plans...I hope MC and co. make good use of this tool....

Looks amazing !!! Too bad they will not wrap around the north end this year. Does anyone know why the delay. Is the north face or facade student center embedded into the stadium ?? The south end appears to only be steel, iron and aluminum...The design is still a very basic bleacher system. Seems to me the entire design could be completed by Sept. minus the student support center ??
I too am hopeful that as a recruiting tool, the progress of the NEW Cage will help MC and staff to get some moderate to highly rated kids to take a chance on us and come play here. It only takes a few decent recruiting classes...Remember Strock and co. were able to get Barnes, Bostic and Bouie all in the same class I think ? No reason that we can get a few kids from Booker T, Central or Northwestern....

I know this is kind of random but do we or have we ever recruited 4-star or above player? Or how do we usually do with recruiting, star-wise?

Speaking as a former recruiting analyst for Rivals, do not concern yourself about stars and player rankings. You would be surprised at the way those rankings are done.
