Walked by the stadium yesterday. The east stands have officially started going up and you can now see the "curve" from the south stands to the east stands. In the next week I suppose the east stands will begin to go up and later connect to the south ones. The west stands looked like they were working on plumbing and foundation. The suites have the roof on them and I think the floors. I don't think any significant construction has begun on the Panther Club underneath the south stands but I'm not sure. Overall, the stadium is going up really fast and it's looking really great, everyone's excited about it! Go panthers!! Thanks for the update...Please, keep them coming for all of us that don't go to campus on a regular basis....Good to hear the south-east "curve" of the bleachers is taking place, along with the roof and stuff at the suites...Are all the bleachers "done" at the south side?

Yeah the bleachers seem to done completely. What they're working on now is the suites and getting them closed in, floored, wired, etc. The only thing that's missing in the south stands is the exit ramps on the lower levels and the Panther Club (which I believe is undergoing foundation work as well as the west stands). It's looking great, I was walking back from class by the new Graduate Business buildings and you can see the stadium from the other side of campus now. It's so amazing, it's really cool! GO PANTHERS!

mad hook up for us out of towners, thanks. The stands look ok, but I dunno the thing still looks very very empty to me. can anyone point me to an image or resource on how exactly the stadium will look come kickoff against USF. Thanks
ROAR BABY!!!....still trying to get over last night's agonizing loss. pantherpass.com did a nice job with the stream, very good quality even here in europe. it was a mess against MTSU, but then again I'm glad it was lol

I believe it's going to look like this for the 2008 season. I don't think these are the right colors for the bleachers... This is the image provided by Odebrecht on how it will at 18,000 capacity. I think this is what the stadium is expected to look like for the 2008 season. Notice how this design is the same as the one on top. Also notice the 19 suites (there seem to be 20 windows but that is probably a mistake). Now here is a pic i took during the virtual aerial animation that was provided by odebrecht. I tried to get the same angle as the previous picture in order to compare the two stages. At this stage, the stadium has a capacity of 35,000. Even though it seems completed, there is no building that represents the Student Support Complex. When the building is completed, then the stadium will have a capacity of 45,000. If you compare both pictures closely, you will notice the different adjustments that will take place during the two bulding phases. GO FIU!!!!

When do you think they'll expand it to 35,000? Has anyone heard any news on this?

I just finished passing by the stadium today. I'm suprised at how quickly they are putting up the east stands. They have already finished the frame of the curve (from south to east) and they have started to put the bleachers on that section as well. It was really dark when I passed by, but it seemed as if the south section is completed. I'll see if I can get some pics tom... I can't wait till this "Cage" is finished!!!

Thanks for the updates. The stadium is really going up so fast, it's crazy. It will probably be finished sometime around the end of Spring semester or sooner at the rate it's going. Every week there's a more noticeable change, it's great! GO PANTHERS!!
